Fall Trend 2013: Over The Knee Boots

So it’s the third day in a row of gloomy, grey weather here in Chicago and we can no longer deny that Fall has arrived.  The good news is we can finally start wearing all those exciting Fall trends (classic printspastel coatsall white & all greyfluffy sweaters).

Another Fall trend I’m loving is the over-the-knee boot.  Scroll through my picks above!

If you were smart enough to invest in a pair last year, pat yourself on the back. My style of preference is a simple, black, flat or low heeled boot. Wear them with your leather leggings or skinny jeans tucked in.  You can also wear them with a preppy pair of tweed or houndstooth shorts from the menswear trend that is big right now.  My absolute favorite way to wear it is with an oversized, super chunky but very short sweater dress.  I love the contrast of the oversized, shapeless sweater dress but with sexy, over-the-knee boots and exposed bit of thigh.  Leave people wondering “Is it sexy? Is it not?”  Okay fine, no one will be thinking about it but you and me.

The picture above is of the gorgeous Kate Moss in THE original over-the-knee boot…Stuart Weitzman’s 5050 boots.  These boots are a must have and have been seen on so many of my favorite fashionistas like Miranda Kerr and Olivia Palermo and they are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.  If 20 years doesn’t say CLASSIC to you, I’m not sure what does.

In honor of this special anniversary, Gilt.com is having a digital pop-up shop featuring the classic versions of the 5050 boots, as well as unique, exclusive styles (think sea crystal snake calfskin and prune woodsnake!) Also, they are offering $50 gift card to Gilt.com and $50 to Stuart Weitzman with the purchase of a pair of boots.  I think that reads $100 discount considering the savings on future shopping.  The sale begins today and will be live for 20 days.  Click onto www.5050bootcamp.com to shop!

  1. These are great for long legs like yours. For shorties like myself, are they still considered “over the knee” if they come up to my belly-button?

  2. June: Haha…I think they would look hot on you!!
